I received many hits after writing a post on Facebook’s Spam wall issue. You know smoking bud?
This morning my brother woke up with the following message in his mailbox:
From: warning+pgdf6l1@facebookmail.com
Subject: Facebook Warning
Hello,
You made one or more wall posts that violated our Terms of Use. Among other things, posts that are hateful, threatening, or obscene are not allowed. We also take down posts that attack an individual or group, or advertise a product or service. Continued misuse of Facebook’s features could result in your account being disabled.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can visit our FAQ page at http://www.facebook.com/help.php?topic=wposts.
The Facebook Team

They don’t seem to realize there is a failure in their architecture. I’m sure many people will receive this warning, yet these poor users haven’t done anything to go against the rules, they followed a link sent from a friend. It’s sad they can’t make the difference between the attacker and the victim.
I don’t think it’s a spyware sitting inside the computer. The problem could be related to an application you installed, maybe if you remove the last application you added, it can solve your problem. Again they should restrict and have a tighter security in their API (application programming interface).

I’m wondering how the flip a robot or whatever can post on a facebook wall when it is disabled and not visible????? Drives me nuts.
More and more people are getting caught with this Spam.
I don’t think it’s related, but I only receive these messages from friends located in Europe.
Lets hope facebook doesnt turn into a myspace!
anyways, love your blog!
Cheers,

Facebook is going die just like Myspace… except Facebook is worse because they let random people create millions of really stupid and useless applications.
I’m bringing Xanga back… who’s with me?
Like I said in the previous post “Google will probably end up buying FB in the long term.”
Not sure about Xanga, never joined!
I wonder if its a hacker issue. myspace had an issue with hackers posting from people’s accounts to other blogs. Maybe facebook needs to look into this further since it sounds like they are blaming the wrong people.
Seems like FB is turning like Myspace. They keep targeting ads and with all these messy applications, some profiles take a while to load.
Yes, Joy they are blaming the wrong people.
This is one more of the many reasons that I haven’t used social networks. I had joined Facebook and next thing I know, I am getting all kinds of things sent to me which I have no interest in and consider them to be spam.
