As many of you already know, Thepiratebay is heading for a trial this spring. There was a raid against them in 2006 when cops seized 15 of their servers at their isp.
They write: ” Our enemies in Hollywood know that a court ruling won’t stop us. They know that silly legal threats won’t stop us. We believe they are using this process to spread asmuch dirt about us as possible. To make filesharing look dangerous and illegal. The investigation took 20 months, they expect the trials to last for years. During this time you can stay informed or respond to all kinds of wild accusations in the court blog they created.

A swedish prosecutor Hakan Roswall has announced the charges against four individuals (Fredrik Neij (”TiAMO”), Gottfrid Svartholm (”Anakata”), Peter Sunde (”Brokep”) and businessman Carl Lundström) involved with The Pirate Bay. The four, aged 23 to 37, are being charged with “assisting copyright infringement” of 4 software applications, 9 films and 22 music tracks.

Don’t worry folks, this site won’t be taken offline no matter what the court decides. The Pirate Bay is not hosted in Sweden anymore, the crew claims they have no idea where the servers are located, it’s reasuring to know they are not hosted in just a single country.

This battle concerns everyone using the World Wide Web, especially torrent users. I would really like to know what you think on the topic.
